Creating Innovators and Entrepreneurs Since 2006 Founded in 2005 as a not-for-profit initiative, TechTop has been at the forefront of nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among students across India. What started as the first nationwide student innovation challenge has now grown into a global movement that celebrates creativity, problem-solving, and social impact.

Our Mission​

At TechTop, our mission is simple yet powerful:

  • Identify young innovators with groundbreaking ideas.

  • Celebrate their achievements through challenges, bootcamps, and recognition.

  • Promote their solutions so they can scale into sustainable businesses or impactful social ventures.

We believe in innovation that is:

  • Simple – easy to adopt and implement.

  • Sustainable – environmentally and socially responsible.

  • Scalable – capable of reaching wider communities.

Our Journey​

  • 2006 – Launch of the first TechTop National Innovation Challenge, inviting engineering students from across India.

  • 2009 onwards – Early success stories like Chakshuyaan, the Vision Aid Robot showcased TechTop’s ability to spark real change.

  • 2014–2016 – Life-changing projects such as the Affordable Refreshable Braille Display and Plastic Concrete Hollow Blocks gained national recognition.
    2015 – MIT- India Monthlong International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, Thiruvananthapuram.

  • 2017–2018 – MIT – IIT Delhi monthlong International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp.
    2017 – First Atal Tinker Fest India @ IIT Delhi

  • 2018 – TechTop National Innovation Challenge and Bootcamp at Kalasalingam University, Virudunagar, Tamilnadu.

  • Today – TechTop has engaged thousands of student innovators, motivated School Innovation programs through Atal Tinkering Labs, and helped launch 30+ startups with an alumni featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Global Collaborations​

  • 2006 – Launch of the first TechTop National Innovation Challenge, inviting engineering students from across India.

  • 2009 onwards – Early success stories like Chakshuyaan, the Vision Aid Robot showcased TechTop’s ability to spark real change.

  • 2014–2016 – Life-changing projects such as the Affordable Refreshable Braille Display and Plastic Concrete Hollow Blocks gained national recognition.

  • Today – TechTop has engaged over 16,000 student innovators, supported 10,000+ Atal Tinkering Labs, and helped launch 30+ startups with some alumni featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Looking Ahead – TechTop 2025​

  • In 2025, TechTop will host the TechTop International Inclusive Innovation Challenge & Bootcamp (TIIICB 2025) at Technopark, Trivandrum, Kerala.
    This global platform, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will bring together students, mentors, and partners to co-create solutions for a better future.
